Meditation and the Invincibility of the Practitioner
This higher practice is not exclusive to any single school: anyone who has established a regular meditation practice and experiences effortless transcending can learn and practice the Sutras.
I recommend beginning the Sutras after at least six months of steady daily meditation. The more familiar you are with transcending, the more natural and profound the Sutras will be.
All Sutras already reside within our consciousness. Practicing with Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras simply activates latent human neurophysiology. As explained in the mechanics of meditation, once you have opened the primary channel to the river of Being, the Sutras act like precise irrigation streams watering every corner of your garden.
The Sutras are not theatrical “paranormal tricks” to feel superior to others. They are refined qualities of thought (Samyama) that empower living awareness in its fullness, practiced immediately following your meditation session.
The Inner Argonaut: Traveling the Inner Cosmos
The Argonaut (or Sidha) is one who travels swiftly within the universe. The journey takes place inside us: all creation, memory, and potentiality reside within human consciousness. The Argonaut does not need physical spaceships — by diving deep within, one touches the non-local source where the inner spiral meets universal reflection.
Cosmic timing in meditation balances around cycles of twelve. In physiology and consciousness, twelve represents the synthesis of the 3 subtle aspects (mind, intellect, transcendent witness), the 5 senses of perception, and the 4 bodily elements. Moving from one Sutra to the next is done in complete, lucid stillness.
We are mental beings immersed in a conscious universe. When anchored in Being, we let go of petty ego and live as our authentic self. Ignorance and friction recede; study, creative arts, and love make life a joy.
The 18 Sutras and the Yogic Flying Technique
The core training consists of 18 classical Sutras learned in progressive groups of three, allowing the nervous system ample time to assimilate each quality. This prepares the practitioner for the climax of the practice: the Sutra of Yogic Flying (the lightness of the body).
Yogic Flying produces exceptional neurophysiological coherence between left and right brain hemispheres. The experience is one of pure exhilaration and expansive lightness, radiating waves of peace to the surroundings.
As the Argonaut reminds us with a smile:
“Perhaps you do not know,
perhaps they never told you,
that the most transparent things
are the most resilient of all…”
Thank you.
