Meditation and the Transcendent: The Fourth State of Consciousness

“That is full, this is full; from fullness, fullness proceeds; when fullness is drawn from fullness, fullness yet remains.”
— Brihadaranyaka Upanishad V.1.1

What can we do with a verse like this? To the analyzing intellect alone, it seems like a riddle. To grasp its truth, one must transcend: distinguishing intellectual reasoning from direct transcendence.

The Transcendent: The Fourth State of Consciousness

Waking, dreaming, and deep sleep are the three familiar states of consciousness we live daily. As we settle into deeper quiet, we experience the conscious subject — the transcendent witness.

The conscious subject awakens as we approach the field of all possibilities. There, one experiences silence without sleep, clarity without dreaming, and restful alertness. In that state, you simultaneously become the observer, the observed, and the process of observation. Contact with this field recharges mind and body with vibrant health and lucid serenity.

Dissolving Deep-Seated Stress

During meditation, the mind rests while remaining subtly active. This quietude allows accumulated stress to liquefy and dissolve. Just as physical exercise helps burn bodily fat, daily transcending cleanses mental tensions, leaving us centered and unshakeable amid daily pressures.

You do not need to change your lifestyle, diet, or personality: true transformation happens organically from within. You remain authentically yourself.

The Next Step: Expanding the Vehicle

With consistent practice, the primary seed sound (Bij Mantra) can eventually expand into a complete, tripartite sequence. However, before taking this step, you must practice your base mantra for at least one full month (30 days) so the nervous system adapts smoothly to daily silence.
